12 ways to "get that fall feeling" when it's hot

Hi friends. First up, some personal stuff.
I’ve been in Boston with my dad who just had what was supposed to be surgery 2/4 for blocked vessels. It went well, but there was a complication; he stopped being able to find certain words. They believe the patch they placed isn’t allowing the blood flow to be as it should and will go in to repair tomorrow. Thank you for all of your good thoughts on IG! I just wanted to address what’s in my heart and on my mind in an authentic way and not just launch into this story I’ve been working on. But I also wanted to finish it! Courage!

So here we go.
As all the fall reports rolled in and all the “sweater weather” and “layering 101”, and “new must-have boot” stories began to appear, I can’t say I’ve had FOMO living in Miami, but I have been like: “shoot!”
Still, I didn’t think about writing about it since it seemed like a “me” problem. Until you wrote me! Surprisingly, lots of interest. So I’m tackling for us. I have two approaches you can apply:
Strategy 1: The Personal Chef: Start with fall inspo you like and become a master of swaps. Like a personal chef working with a client who’s on a proscribed diet. Looking for inspo? One of my faves is Chase, over at OOTDNewYork.
Strategy 2: Lofted Settledness: When working toward Lofted Settledness in your day, pinpoint the fall feeling you want as your “aspirational feeling.” So for example, do you want to feel “cozy and cared for” “sophisticatedly layered” etc.? Just insert that into your Lofted Settledness calculator for the day. Using seasonally-appropriate pieces.
