I love hacks. I love the word “hack.” I love the idea of a sneaky secret shortcut or tricky aha. I like the idea that I’m screwing with “the man.” Look, some days the little things feel more important than others, ok?
So let’s get tricky. And … go:
Money clips are a surprise GOLD MINE. So I was
hard sweatingbrowsing the Phoebe Philo site recently when I came upon the image above. And the product name said “money badge” — genius. Why not stick a money clip to your jacket? Looks so cool, and we love our masc gestalt. Turns out, money clips on TRR are soooo good. Like sterling Bulgari $105 good. And that’s just on TRR. Ask a dad! Get on Etsy! In short, have at it.Buying gifts with CAKE cards. Many of us have signed up for CAKE, and I work with them for a reason! You get invited by a member (that can be me, I can invite you*) and pay a $100 membership fee. But then THAT gives you access to all of these things (exclusives, experiences, etc) including CAKE cards. Those are basically the equivalent of cash, automatically applied in cart at the checkout for the brands you select. Why is this so good for gifts? Because when you apply a card, you’re essentially getting a discount on new (not sale) items. I often want to save money and get someone a better gift but don’t want to get it on sale in case they’d like to return it. This is such a good hack! Honestly, I immediately got my $100 back by saving that much at Philip Lim where I got my hub a very cool shirt and shorts. *TO JOIN:
