I’ve been mulling this idea, or some variation for a while, just trying to sort my thoughts.

Then I saw this. In the notes.

My first reaction was something like this: “I’ve been working since age 16, I’m now 54 and still working, fashion is the main thing I spend money on, and because I have the funds and it jibes with my beliefs, I’ve stopped buying fast fashion. So yes, I buy expensive clothes!”

But even as I look at that response - there’s my own judgement in it. This part: “I’ve been working since age 16, I’m now 54 and still working.”

Like what if I weren’t working outside the home? What if I were home raising kids? What if I just — fell on a pile of money? I go back to this: Is it somehow just “bad” to buy expensive clothes?

Is fancy forbidden?
