Coming off my 1 item (ahem, 3 item) March, I felt like I had a good sense of where I wanted to go next. And one thing that was GREAT (being tender with myself, here; my coach would be proud) is that I bought NOTHING online. I also successfully stopped browsing online and reading linky Substacks except to comment during the week, saving them to enjoy over the weekend. That was a big behavioral change, and I felt (and feel) it deeply.
Sigh time.
On the other hand, I went absolutely WILD serendipitously shopping, quantity wise. But — but! Even there, I was still relatively thoughtful. Skipped things I previously wouldn’t have! And only one item bought in new, traditional form. But still, the quantity…
What I want to do going into May
I want to hold onto the good April shifts but also hold onto what I feel right now. Now that this quantity of items has entered my life. It doesn’t feel as relaxing as it did during my three-item month.
The first thing I wanted to do to prep: face the feelings. Try it all on and look at it. Rip the band aid off. Really make it mine. Start wearing it. And see if any of these new additions meant I could excise something else. Evaluate all these choices I made.
The fact that this exercise took SO LONG was in itself information. I can’t imagine doing this again next month.
