Let’s catch everyone up for a sec first, because there are new folks here. In 2024 I spent an entire year bringing more intentionality to my shopping, implementing parameters to get my time back, observing my thoughts, feeling and actions, and keeping a Shopping Diary.

In January, 2025, I made the determination that I wanted to BE DONE with rules. No more “no-buys” “one-buys” — all of it. It made shopping too big a focus in my life. Instead, I wanted to shop the way I eat, intuitively, based on what I actually and truly want. I decided everything was “allowed.” And I noticed that in the first month, January, my purchase numbers remained the same but my focus on shopping faded dramatically.

This month, I started a class on overshopping. Someone here who unsubscribed suggested that I had untreated shopping addiction. I don’t yet know if I agree, but my theme for 2025 is “get curious” — and I wanted to run toward not away from this, which definitely piqued my curiosity. I’ve now had several sessions of course work and group meetings, and I am seeing all the things I’ve worked out over the past year reinforced.

My biggest aha so far?
