Yenisei Emmert, “Yeni”: HCC Coach/Medium
Being a human is hard enough. Now add to that the struggles of #corporatelife. It can all be a lot. And when something’s not quite right, it can feel insurmountable. It’s why we think looking at all kinds of approaches is key. A) You deserve it and B) It’s about finding what works for you. So when we met Yeni, who combines life coaching skills with the insights of a gifted medium, we knew she’d be a perfect resource for clients at a crossroads. Here’s a little peek into her world.
Describe what you do.
As a life coach and a medium, I am a translator and a matchmaker. It starts with an open conversation between your heart and your brain. See, they both speak different languages. Plus human pollution affects who we are and the way we think, but most importantly how we feel. I reconnect you with your own self, your true self.
As a medium, I channel spirits. I can have a two-way conversation with people who have passed away. It’s just a beautiful thing. I have learned so much about life and the right way to live it thanks to those conversations.
What is the hardest part of your job?
When people aren’t willing to put in a minimal effort to be a better person. That I have a really hard time with. People who don’t take responsibility for their actions and words. People who know the difference between right and wrong and choose what is better for them without thinking of the world around them. (Ed note: Same x a million.)
What issue or idea weighs most on your mind?
God gave me many extraordinary gifts. I can talk to the dead; I can talk to your heart and brain. I have the moral responsibility to pay it forward. It doesn’t matter how hard you work on having a happy and successful life. Without balance, harmony, self-love, and compassion towards yourself, you can’t get there. I take it as a responsibility to share my gifts; it does weigh on me. We need happiness and fulfillment now more than ever. I want a better world for the next generation.
What’s a common misconception of what you do?
People ask for lottery numbers a lot. My best friend calls me when she has a problem … Of course, we’re best friends, that is what best friends do. But instead she is like, “Yeni, look up and ask my angels so and so,” and I’m like, “Would like to hear my opinion? Because I don’t have your angels on the other line.” It doesn’t work like that. I can turn in off. Actually if I keep it ON it’s not good for my body because it requires a lot of energy.
What are some examples of when a client might call you for the first time?
People call me at their most vulnerable and difficult times. Maybe they lost a loved one, or are having a hard time getting where to want to go in life. I have clients who called for the first time because they couldn’t figure out what was next. Motivation without direction can be very frustrating. I have a requirement for clients. They need to be accepting, wanting and willing to make positive change in their lives.
How do the coaching and medium skills work together?
Everything is in the name of self-growth. Talking with a loved one who passed away is so powerful and on its own, it makes a big difference in that person’s life. And the life coach in me always asks spirit to say something that my client can benefit from.
Describe the last time a client had surprise insight from you.
My favorite is this one: I’ve been giving readings to this woman for like three years, once a year. So the fourth year, she told me she asked her deceased husband to tell me something that only the two of then knew. And apparently I did pretty good that fourth year. She took a picture frame from her bedroom, she got distracted, went into her daughters bedroom and she left the picture with her. Well the first thing that her husband said was, “tell her that is a great spot for that picture.” I was like, “Sorry that is so generic, I will try to get more detail of the picture.” She was just like, “Ok you are legit.” That was very powerful to me … That night I cried so much. It was a mixed feeling of validation and gratitude.
Where in your home do you work, and what do you surround yourself with there?
I work in my dining room. It’s a bright room. I have a portable reading kit with candles, essential oils, a rosary, a singing bowl, angels cards, a chakra wand, books with info about crystals, arc angel cards, and a little statue of Ganesha.
What do you wear to meet clients?
I started working professionally six years ago; my little guy was only one. So I used to get all glammed up for my readings. I think people were expecting to see an older woman, not much into fashion. And for me it was an opportunity to wear something pretty, and, of course, jewelry. I have toned it down a little. Now I wear what makes me feel like the best me. Comfortable and confident. I like bold jewelry, red lips. I align my chakras daily. When I feel that one needs more attention, I wear something in the color of that chakra. Right now, I am wearing a blue top and blue earrings because the color of the fifth chakra is the chakra of communication. When I feel overwhelmed or sad, I wear something green. It represents the heart chakra. It’s a reminder that I need to be extra kind and loving to myself.
What does being honorable mean to you?
From a very young age, I learned that my family’s biggest assets were honesty and perseverance. So for me, being honorable means to be able to look at myself in the mirror and know I have always tried my very best. It doesn’t mean that I don’t make mistakes. It means that I own my mistakes, and I grow from them. My words, my actions, my thoughts are a reflection of who I am. My commitment is with the world around me, I will respect you and honor you because you are a true blessing in my life.
