Last week was a good week in outfits for me (I mean

gave it a shoutout and she is my arbiter of cool), and I felt that way this week too — and I think a few things are happening. One, I think I’ve gotten better at style. You know my longstanding hot take is that style isn’t “you have it or you don’t” — style is a muscle you can work out. I do a lot of that.

One of the things I hate to see most in style writing is that old “you either have it or you don’t” trope. Grrrr. Also, I think your style and/or your satisfaction with your style can improve as you know yourself better, and aging is good for that.

And then also: I feel better in my skin, less shoved into things the past ten days or so. I think this is because of what I’m calling “body tenderness” - that is, giving my body nice things like greens and whole foods and wayyyyyy less alcohol. You see me talking about my ass size — but that’s not being down on myself! I appreciate that I work out and am strong there. It’s ok for me to also be realistic about how I want clothes to fall over that (it? her?) nicely.
