I call them “Golden Children.” Tibi calls them WOFs. They are your go-tos, your ride or dies, those pieces in your closet that can always be counted on to WORK. They meet the practicality of a moment, calm down the “out there.” They provide answers. Not questions. And once they’re there for you, time and again, they become Closet Heroes.

And I think it was Amy from Tibi who first introduced me to this notion of wearing your Golden Children while trying on clothes. If something won’t work with a WOF, it probably won’t work, period. And definitely won’t work hard enough for you.

My black nylon Stellas were one of my first Tibi purchases. I remember wanting to wear this little lace top but struggling. When I stuck it with those Stellas, it instantly became wearable.
