A Sunday shoutout to everything I’m obsessing over right now.
Small (yes, and sometimes large) pleasures make it a life, amiright? These are the things currently winning high honors in my heart.
Mismatched earring sets. The manageable, not-trying-too-hard answer to single earrings and earcuffs. You get to feel a little of that “wrong” vibe without stretching so far from your comfort zone. There is a newly released Paloma Picasso version at Tiffany’s featuring Paloma’s own handwriting. Or you can visit my fave site, Multiply, and snap these up for under $25, while helping women and men in Nepal.
Used paperbacks from Amazon. I am not a tablet girl. I’m a paper girl. This is the answer. And I share them with friends. If you’re in the neighborhood and want to pick one up, I’m starting a used book share at The Fireplace. Come on in and grab the last book I read. Just pass it on to someone else when you’re done.
Old-school cop shows. I am suddenly kind of over the esoteric Netflix chef-y stuff, and am newly hooked on Chicago PD.
My new (old) flight suit from Recollective Vintage. It’s so easy. Like a onesie for grownups. I’ll just add my highest heels and go.
Suntegrity self-tanner. If you’re self-tanning, you’re trying to do something healthier than getting sun. So I don’t want one with a bunch of toxic ingredients! This one is vegan, full of hydrating organic botanicals and antioxident-rich. Sleep in a pair of black PJs, and wake up golden.
Patches. I’m officially patch-obsessed. Since I’m not much of a DIY-er and don’t own an iron, I took my jean jacket to the dry cleaner to have this one and this one and this one sewn on.
7. My Torneo hightops from M.Gemi. Not all sneakers are comfortable! Especially the cool ones. I love how these handcrafted Italian hightops poison the preciousness of my skirts, and I can walk for miles and miles.
8. Paleo English muffins for breakfast. OMG. These. The raisin version. “Bake” in 2 mins.
9. Using my own vessels for professional flower arrangements. Orly Khon is the best florist in the world, and she’s always done the most amazing, unique work for me — even something baseball themed for my son’s Bar Mitzvah! Recently when I wanted something with an Italian theme, I gave her an amaretti cookie box to work with, and she made me this:
You can also have her fill your planters. I do!
10. This delightful children’s book, brought to us from Slate Magazine.
My First Big Boy Trip, an Easy Reader Book by Donald J. Trump
I'm getting ready for my big foreign trip. I will be strongly protecting American interests-that's what I like to do…www.slate.com
