What I wore all week. Confirmed -- I don't like entitled assholes. But I do like dressing like one.

Also: I am wearing my clothes.

Sunday night and the synapses are firing, baby. Miami is Miami-ing. The ocean is pink rn, just look.

“Being Tag for a week” put some swing swagger back in my step. Tag Winbury, for those who don’t know, the spoiled J-smoking shit of Netflix’ The Perfect Couple, embodied so perfectly by Liev Schreiber. The rumpled, caddish, prep-luxe style of my dreams. What a way to do life, it turns out. At least sartorially. Funny how embodying a complete moral failure really made me feel like I knew what I was doing.

MONDAY

What: Old white Bottega pants (these are similar and these). Miu Miu boat shoes (sold out but here’s the fall iteration of the concept). Secondhand men’s reversible Ferragamo belt (this would do the same). Secondhand Cucinelli blazer from Castanet. Old Bottega foldover bag (one on sale here … and another preloved). Navy La Ligne tee.

Why: Tag never wears a tie. I knew I’d be auditioning his blazer and tee combo this week. T(he boat shoes are so good for walking and add to the whole “not even trying just Nantucket-ing” thing.

Outcome: Felt like heaven. You know that “I feel like a million bucks,” expression? Tag’s is like “I feel like a trillion bucks b/c a million just covers my bar tab and drug guy.” Not my typically exaggerated self but the big pants helped me feel like me.

and I put this on later to go for my walk, and include it only to stand for the proposition that I am wearing my clothes. And rewearing them. And rewearing entire outfits. This is important to me. I’m not here to create every time. I’m here to get dressed to feel good living a life.

TUESDAY

What: Wore my actual men’s suit, from the Ralph Lauren men’s department — alterations are free and I HIGHLY recommend. I did it two ways. First with my SEOUL tee from eBay, preloved Hermes Empire sandals (10.5 — more here and here and here and 36.5 here) and preloved Hermes Victoria bag. And then with my Canali men’s tee, Blu Scarpa sneakers and preloved Hermes So Kelly 26 (and another So Kelly here).

Why: Damn I love this suit. Just makes things so EASY. I was going out later, so I showered and swapped tees. Done + done.

Outcome: Total joy. I want to wear suits A LOT. The jacket is great in AC and looks good around my waist too. I’ve been vacillating about whether to hem the pants. Still not 100% sure. Too long for a flat or thin loafer.
