What I wore all week: highs and lows of denim days

I may have gotten too cocky. That black and white week made me feel like I had sh*t all under control. And then I decided to do a week in denim and denim inspired looks. What could go wrong? Weird washes, thick sweaty fabric, the hottest days on record, and that feeling I’d forgotten something when that “something” turned out to be my dress for an event. Maybe my pain can be your gain.

Onto the outfits …

Monday

What I wore: A very old Tibi skirt bought used. Eckhaus Latta layering piece. tibi shoes (also preloved!). Jil Sander bag. Riand 28 shirt. (More on this brand & me, here.)

Why: This skirt is old and the wash is dated but I like the shape. So I wanted to put it with something modern and oversized; hence the Riand 28 shirt. I liked the way the black piece added a different shape. I usually don’t pair black and a color, for me the brown shoe softened this and so did the raffia bag. The black pocket on the bag helped it make sense too.

Outcome: I absolutely loved it. Looks wise. BUT, it was hotter than I thought out. And the waist of the skirt was tighter and higher than I remembered. Perhaps things have shifted during flight. Zut, alors! Moving on.
