Instead of “what’s in store” as my treat this week, I give you “what’s in city” a curated, current roundup of greatest hits from a place I went.
I visited Mexico City for the first time pre-pandemic. We celebrated my parents’ 50th anniversary. Get that roundup here. (And do not miss Fonda Margarita; we went back on this next trip, and again, it was perfection.)
For this trip, we got an apartment, intending to stay a month so we could avoid hurricane season back in Miami. (I would be working from home here, not taking a month of vacation.) We selected Polanco again thinking we hadn’t explored it all and would be there over the Jewish high holidays, so it made sense to stay in a Jewish neighborhood.
My dad needed a surgery, so we ended up staying two and a half weeks rather than the four. I packed well for it in a carryon; here you can see everything I packed and wore.
Where + how long
So Polanco is lovely, but I wouldn’t stay there again. Why?
