For someone who fears looking “fradiculous” I am out there doing A LOT. My friend

Christian Botefuhr
imparted this great theory that statement pieces are the unsung heroes of ease, because they’re “one and done.” They do all the work. Her Dries opera coat is so “useful” that she bought a second opera coat … just add to jeans and a tank and go!

Yet I seem to have a problem with the “just go” part. Somehow I need to “feel creative” when putting outfits together, and that often leads me to add more to my more. So for example this

That was functionally good (hid my cupping marks!).

But the yellow dress already has a second whole dress on it! There’s a little detail on the neck too. I want to wear this dress a lot. And allow it to be the easy one and done I first envisioned.

This week I challenged myself (and you! Check my friend Ruth for example, who played along) to let those great statements we invested in do their thing.

Here are the speed takeaways:

@heymrssolomon reader-powered! I get vulnerable here, do a lot of work here, and appreciate this community. As a thank you, paid subscribers always get these mails first so they have first access to all the secondhand finds I pull. I also answer your questions, and only post what personally know and actually like. It’s a good place to be.
