So reassuring to see your dress, your candle, and a book--the distinctive signs of your essence. xoxo

This is such a good idea! Love having a little kit with me at all time and it comes in handy for me (and friends!) SO often! X

XO! Yes! I take such pride in finding all the right teeny things ;-) Ok too much pride maybe.

My son loaned me his tiny Jellycat elephant to take on a trip to Geneva, the longest I’d been away from my kiddos—and it was so comforting! Yes, I felt slightly embarrassed when I got home and had to email the hotel staff asking if they’d found it (“I’m sorry Madam, we did not find a cuddly toy”) but the elephant turned up safe and sound in one of my darn packing cubes after all!

Enjoy! YES to stain remover! And, I ALWAYS pack an extra set of clothing, a bathing suit, and something to sleep in just in case my luggage gets lost. Funny you mentioned truffle salt, I always bring packets of Jennifer Fisher spicy salt wherever I go!

Love the stain remover tip! Is there a particular type that you use - eg wipes, stick?

This is such a good list! My mom used to travel with a tiny travel candle and matchbook. I’ve always wanted to find one.

curious as to why YOU leave Miami for New England every summer (I know reasons why plenty of others do) since it seems so borderline traumatizing. at least your Miami re-entry must feel like Christmas!

LOL! It should not be -- I go to be with family (mom/dad/son/in-laws), to escape the heat/storms, but primarily because this is my husband's tradition and he does so much that I want like moving to Miami in the first place. But I am definitely contemplating how I approach this -- like WHY do I feel this way? Should I BUY a condo in Boston (seems ridiculous when I don't want to be there and it would be 2 months). And/or -- what I am thinking about a lot -- should I commute to New England for long weekends and do partial weeks (seems potentially easier than it sounds with no luggage).

The little kit is essential! I am back and forth between my home and my partners home and having my non negotiable essentials on hand and always ready to go has definitely eased the stress of packing/ unpacking. I also have a blanket that I leave there as well! ( I second the tweezers. There is nothing worse than finding a chin hair and realizing I left my tweezer man at home. Oh the anxiety!)

LOLOLO. And the back and forth life, totally feel that!

Yes to all of these- my kit continues to grow, and I def need my shampoo, conditioner and multiple post-wash products. It’s a good thing I’m driving to my destination! Now let’s hope I remembered to pack underwear…!

I love these ideas. I would add tweezers to the kit as I find that as I've gotten older I cannot leave the house without a stray hair check!

Timely! In the summer I spend a lot of time in New England too! (my moms place on the beach) and living out of a suitcase is a drag! I have to up my game here and need to create the "kit"! Def on my to do list when I go back home next week!
