Did Tibi change our "style"?

Short answer: yep. And that's ok.

So now I am on to answering the question Tiia of @sundaystylethoughts asked me in a chat. Has Tibi changed my personal style?

The prelude inquiry

I first had to ask 1) Does personal style still exist, and 2) Do I have it?

I came to these conclusions:

  • There are only a few people out there with what I consider to be true personal style. Virtually all of us are building on the inspiration we see around us, with various degrees of originality, attention, and confidence (by which I mean, assuredness in our choices).

  • At one end of the sliding scale are the true iconic originals, and following closely are attentive, informed people with a deep sense of what they like.

  • I would call myself a “style gunner” - I care deeply, I study, I curate well, I have no original ideas. I know what I don’t like very well, but what I do like changes. I would say I know a lot about style but don’t have a really strong sense of personal style. I’m very apt to being influenced.

So there wasn’t much there there for Tibi to change. But yes, it did.
