The month I tried to let go. And go on.

Everything I bought in October. And my Shopping Diary.

[Background: In 2024 I spent an entire year bringing more intentionality to my shopping, implementing parameters to get my time back, observing my thoughts, feelings and actions, and keeping a Shopping Diary. In January, 2025, I decided to BE DONE with rules. No more “no-buys” “one-buys” — all of it. I’d shopping too big a focus in my life. (More on that here if you’re interested.) I then completed a class on over-shopping.]

October, the second half in particular, is my favorite time of the year in my favorite place in the world: home. I have been getting my groove back. Our son is good, fingers crossed. He hearts my texts. Dad is taking it day by day. Making me laugh. Telling me never to leave my Honor Code job to do “this influencer thing or whatever.”

This influencer thing or whatever is going well. I’m touching the novel every day. But also: I am still haunted by what happened in August.
