That's such a paw-some reminder! Petting dogs is truly one of life's priceless joys.

I’m beyond thrilled and honored that our Blakely Tencel-Linen T-shirt has earned the title of your trusty tee. Thank you, my love! 💕

Also, I have to say—I am absolutely drooling over your palm tree rhinestone earrings from the Prada Party. They’re so sparkly, cool, and fun. Total show-stealers!

The Rodeo bag is my dream dream wish bag and I’ve been loving seeing how much you use it and it seems to be something you reach for again and again. Obviously it’s very functional as well as being beautiful, and I’m absolutely smitten with it in that color.

Which brings me to my question for you: how did you decide on which color you wanted when purchasing that bag?

That aubergine-y oxbloody color is scrumptious and it’s been interesting to see you style it. Every time you reach for it, do you find that it’s more for function than a stylistic move to introduce that particular color into the outfit? Would you imagine that (say, on a day you might need it for its function) you would work an outfit around it/the color of it, or is the color of the bag an afterthought?

I’ve been thinking about this, and realize I tend to select black bags as ones that I use most/use for function (a bag to fit my computer/book/etc) because I suppose there is an ease to them and think they “go with anything”. But maybe I’m just not thinking about color enough or, maybe I’m thinking about color too much. 🙃

Oh, THANK YOU. So I think I have a HARD TIME with black bags, actually ... they feel very HARSH tome, with color, and very matchy with black. I actually just returned some black flats for the same reason. Oddly enough. I bought this color because it is always just enough "wrong" that it's right. I wear it with black and it's not so much to be jarring. It doesn't "match" when I wear brown/tan ... and so it just "works." And then with brights, it's a subtler alternative to black that makes me feel fashion-y, if that makes sense, like with pink, bright red, purple, acid green. All of these things making me KEEP REACHING for it, plus the perfect function. Does that make sense?

That makes PERFECT sense, especially with your different examples of why it feels right, when. And the overarching “just enough ‘wrong’ that it’s right”, plus simply the fact that is *is* so functional…it feels like an almost magically easy styling move/bag that adds a lot to a look without trying too terribly hard/having to futz around too much to get it right. Yet again, you break it down perfectly.

hi rachel! have you noticed a change in the tibi calder sizing? the first and only pair i had stretched out at the waist with every wear and i ultimately sold them. i vaguely remember hearing that they adjusted the sizing to address the issue but i can't quite recall. wondering whether to try again when they come i stock. how do you find them to run? do you size down?

I remember hearing that, but the sizing has not been a problem for me. I am true to size.

Yes, I will admit a dog will pull me into a story before anything else......they are the best!

Great newsletter....lots and lots of golden nuggets......but my favorite are the rhinestone earrings .....they are fabulous and the whole ensemble was perfection....Interesting how two of the three people I communicate with on substack are you and Irene. Authentic, chill, and caring no surprise you would be IRL friends. As usual appreciate these fun reads and the work behind them.....
