This is fascinating. I need to study it more and commit to memory. I was thinking about “museum” pieces today and was truly going to ask you “what if you have a daughter and need to save things just because?” I think Marie Kondo called it an “archive” - mine includes a Rebecca Taylor disco jumpsuit from my 40th bday, many hand knits from my mom and my first real bag from 1984! A perfect little red coach dinky! ♥️

I did a major cull and reorganization yesterday. I’m proud to have them all on matching hangers again! 52 items in route to TRR and several bags to my local consignment. Feels good to know exactly what I have. I need to do better about mixing them up. Soon!

Yes! I can’t quit going in to admire! It’s a mini Tibi boutique! 🤣

I really admire that you have thought this through so thoroughly. That’s why you’re the writer and I’m not. Interesting that you see the tibi pleated skirts as a golden child. I see them as a treasured sometimes piece. Their balloon skirt is my golden child. Agree with all your categories though. I don’t have any museum pieces because even though I might not wear for 10 years, I usually do wear it again. Now that I think about it, I don’t think I have any museum pieces. I wear everything in my closet. Some more than others but I THINK I do wear them. If it still fits, I will take it out for a ride now and then.

I'm a little late to commenting but this closet pyramid of yours makes so much more sense to me than Tibi's! I could never quite figure out what was missing. Thank you for your insight!

I know what challenge I'm doing this week! While I'm really good about cleaning out my closets, one of my biggest clothing issues is weight fluctuations! I never know when to release something or hold onto it for that reason. I also am a bit of a museum collector I'm learning! I even keep fast-fashion pieces just because they remind me of a special time in my life.

I get that! Excited to hear bow it goes for you. Xx

Oh me, oh my! Will this language be the new way I speak about my clothes? Perhaps! I love the pyramid and the additional layers you added because I agree that the 3 categories Amy references don't always cover my wardrobe. I have a feeling a clockwise challenge is coming for me!!

You will get so much out of that! XO

Love it and got a few ideas and you always introduce me to new labels and sites I that didn't not shop but unfortunately do now. Thank you again for your generous knowledge and ease of sharing. Love the blue belt and I have been looking for the elusive simple cotton white dress and was able to find on that site as well.

I too will have to study and think about what you wrote. And I will have to start the counter clock wise challenge. Do I just pick a top and a bottom and see how they work together. I do t quite understand

You are simply committing to wear each item along a rack in your closet one by one in order -- rather than starting with your mood, you start with what's literally next in line! Take a peek at my IG @heymrssolomon -- I explain in the very first "highlights" at the top
